Sourdough BAGELS!
We love making sourdough bagels, and YES! We do boil our bagels! Sourdough bagels are not as hard as you think they are. Let us break it down for you into simple steps! We'll show you how to feed and maintain your starter, how to make the dough, how to knead, how to shape your bagels before boiling, and what they should look like after they're boiled and ready for the oven!
This is our base bagel recipe, the one we make and sell right here at Half Acre Wood! You can take this recipe, and use it to make all different types of flavors! Once you have the plain sourdough bagel down, the world is your oyster!
We are a skills-focused class, so we will not be baking the bagel dough that we make in class. We will be focusing all of our time and attention on how to tell when your starter has risen, how to make the dough, how to tell when the dough is proved, and how to boil your bagels before baking! We will then have a finished batch of bagels for everyone to try.
Come join us, and let's talk sourdough!
